Aperture and Shutter Speed and ISO, Oh My!

Cameras can be overwhelming when you're just beginning. It can seem like there are tons of confusing settings but during our private photography lessons, we’ll break down the important ones and get you off auto mode. You’ll be using your camera to its full potential in no time!

Understanding lighting and mastering the rules of composition is often what can separate decent photos from great images. Just like with the camera basic lesson, I’ll have a presentation ready on my Ipad going over various types of lighting as well 3 fundamental rules of composition to increase the quality of your photos.

Even though I’ve traveled all across the globe, Vancouver is still home to some of my favorite landscapes, from giant suspension bridges, beautiful waterfalls, incredible forests and more. In the winter, Vancouver is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and in the summer there are incredible long and warm sunsets. During landscape tutorials we can learn about various compositional techniques and how to take advantage of any lighting situation.

I first fell in love with photography when I began taking photos of wildlife. With these tours, we’ll go to one or two wildlife hotspots in Vancouver to target wildlife you’re interested in seeing and photographing. You’ll be able to learn techniques to find wildlife, and unique ways to photograph them.

One of the best parts of photography is being able to photograph friends and family. But there are a few things you can do to ensure that they look as good as possible! During these photography lessons, clients will often bring a friend or family member and we’ll go over different techniques we can use to take beautiful portraits.

Editing sessions are perfect for those interested in learning more about Lightroom and Photoshop or my approach. The effects of post-processing are what can separate a bland and flat image from one that pops.
