Conservation Photographer and Storyteller in British Columbia
Conservation photography is about more than beautiful landscapes or wildlife images. To me, it is about people, place, and the relationships between them. It can be a farmer working to restore soil, a community protecting a forest, a guide sharing knowledge of a coastline, or a quiet moment that helps someone care about a place they may never visit.
My work has included environmental and place-based stories such as Regenerative Agriculture for OpenRoad Magazine, Tree Sitting for National Observer and Chatelaine and Save Old Growth, featured by National Observer.
I’m interested in stories that connect people to the natural world in a way that feels honest, thoughtful, and useful.
A strong conservation story usually needs more than one type of image. It might include portraits, landscapes, wildlife, details, action, quiet moments, and wider context. The goal is to create a set of images that helps people understand what is at stake, who is involved, and why the story matters. That could mean photographing scientists, farmers, guides, Indigenous-led tourism operators, environmental groups, artists, outdoor communities, or people working directly with land and water.
My background sits between photojournalism, tourism, wildlife, adventure, and commercial storytelling. I’m comfortable working outside, adapting to weather, moving through remote locations, and photographing real people without making things feel overly staged.
These images can be used for editorial features, non-profit campaigns, annual reports, grant storytelling, websites, tourism campaigns, fundraising, exhibitions, and brand stories with an environmental focus.
I’m based in Vancouver, and much of my work takes place across British Columbia and Western Canada. I’m also available for travel for the right conservation, editorial, tourism, or place-based project.
